It took 2 buses and a train to get to Oosterbeek - but wow was it worth the effort!
The museum is in what was once the Hartenstein Hotel. During the Market Garden operation it housed men from the airborne divisions during the "advance" on Nijmegen and Arnhem.

Despite the threat of rain (never ending during Autumn in the Netherlands especially with so many hurricanes around!) - we managed to enjoy a picnic. Much to the disdain of several dog walkers who kept having to chase them away from us!
Timed this selfie well - just as some sunshine and blue sky appeared!
