The day started by finding a place to park at Endkhuizen. Due to a lack of language skills (I can't understand a word of Dutch) or signage in the car park near the museum boat, we were very lucky to find a captain who held the boat for us while we ran to the Tourist Info Office to buy a parking badge. Basically, you put this blue P badge in the window, set your time of arrival and hope to be back in 5 hours!
Once this was successfully achieved, we boarded the ms Friesland, where the captain said emphatically "You can now have a rest!". We parked ourselves by the bar and consumed a much needed coffee!
The ms Friesland is a lovely ferry and took us to Medemblik, where we visited the Oude Bakery and bought some amazing butter cookies.
We then boarded the Stoomtram (steam tram) for our journey to Hoorn.
