We had a glorious sunny Sunday, so decided to jump on the train to Harlingen.  

Harlingen is a port town and reminded me of Delft with all the canals, bridges and narrow side streets full of amazing architecture and hidden treasures.

We picked up some pastries in a local bakery and found a park (with a playground) and had a fabulous picnic.  This is when I discovered "curry ketchup" - a Dutch culinary creation I'm now addicted to!

There is a raised promenade which we walked along passing the ferry terminal, where you can catch various ferries out to the islands Vlieland and Terschelling.  You then pass the fishing port area where there are a mixture of modern and traditional boats; all the way to the
